expo kathyI started making dog coats a few years ago for my rescued greyhound, Haley. She would freeze her little "tush" off whenever we went for a walk or just outside to "do her business" during the cold, winter months. I made her a few coats and saved the pattern in case I needed it again.

Since we've rescued our deaf Great Dane, Pounce, I found myself making a few coats for her for the same reason. She just doesn't have the fur coat necessary to keep her warm during the winter. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law saw her coat and requested I make coats for their dogs. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was making coats for a Holiday Boutique a month later. The response was so great, that I kept right on sewing.

I thoroughly enjoy making doggy duds! I get excited when I see fabric that I think will make a beautiful coat and can't wait to get my hands on it. Being a stay-at-home Mom, this has enabled me to "work" from home and still be able to take care of my two young daughters. I say, "work" because it really isn't work when you love doing what you do!

Some of our products can be found locally... just tell them Pounce or Dewey sent you!
